Styling faux plants and foliage in your home decor

How to Style Faux Plants and Foliage in Your Home

Creating a calming, inviting home is all about thoughtful styling—and nothing says ‘tranquil’ quite like greenery. Faux plants and foliage are having a real moment in interiors, and for good reason. The best artificial plants are so realistic, they fool even the most eagle-eyed guests, with none of the watering, wilting, or worry. This blog will show you how to bring your space to life using our collection of luxury faux foliage.

How to Style Faux Plants in Your Home

Faux greenery is incredibly versatile. Whether you’re dressing up a hallway console, softening the look of a bookshelf or brightening a bathroom, the key is choosing the right plant for the space and styling it with confidence.

In the living room, faux trailing greenery like our Faux string of hearts can spill beautifully from shelves or baskets, adding texture and movement. For coffee tables and sideboards, go for compact, sculptural options like our Faux Spanish Moss Bush in a vintage planter. These act as grounding elements that bring freshness without dominating the space.

In kitchens, faux herbs or small foliage in neutral-toned pots like our Faux potted rosemary bush look charming on window ledges or grouped on a tray. Bathrooms benefit from moisture-resistant faux greenery too—our Faux Eucalyptus Stem looks fresh tucked into a glass bottle on a shelf.

Which Faux Foliage is Best in My Home?

Choosing the right foliage depends on the feel you want. For light, bright spaces, eucalyptus is a go-to. Its silvery green hue works perfectly with neutrals, soft pinks and pale woods. Try our Faux Silver Dollar Eucalyptus Stem—it’s full, beautifully realistic and works well in both minimalist and rustic interiors.

For something more structured, boxwood and olive branches add a refined, elegant touch. Our Faux Olive Tree and pair with rustic rattan basket is particularly lovely in dining rooms or entryways where you want to make a subtle statement.

For a lush, romantic look, go for layered greenery with rich textures. Our Luxury Faux Foliage Arrangement blends various leaf shapes and shades of green, making it perfect for mantels or centrepieces. If you love an organic, undone aesthetic, our Faux White Willow Spray adds movement and grace to any arrangement.

Creating Arrangements Using Faux Foliage

Creating a faux foliage arrangement is easier than it sounds. Start by choosing your colour palette—soft greens, silvery tones, or a more varied blend. Decide on the size and shape you’re after: a low, dense centrepiece? Or a tall, statement arrangement?

Begin by placing your tallest stems in the centre or towards the back. Then add medium-height stems around them, varying the direction slightly for a natural look. Fill in with smaller, trailing pieces or add delicate leaves at the edges.

One of our favourite mixes is a blend of Faux Eucalyptus, Faux White Ranunculus and Olive Faux Floral Arrangement, and the Faux Peony and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus Arrangement. The combination of lush greens with subtle whites and soft shapes creates a timeless, romantic feel.

You can also keep things really simple: three or four Faux Silver Dollar Eucalyptus Stems in a ceramic vase can look stunning on their own. Less really can be more.

How to Keep Faux Plants and Foliage Clean

To keep your faux plants looking fresh and lifelike, give them a dust every few weeks. Use a feather duster or soft cloth to gently wipe the leaves. For more delicate pieces, a quick blast with a hairdryer on a cool setting can help remove dust from crevices.

If your faux plants are in the kitchen or near windows, they may get a little greasy or grimy. In that case, lightly dampen a cloth with warm water and gently wipe the foliage. Be careful not to soak the stems or base, especially if they’re in a decorative pot that isn’t waterproof.

Avoid using chemical sprays or cleaners—they can dull the finish of the foliage. A natural clean keeps them looking lifelike.

Which Vase or Pot Should I Use for My Faux Foliage?

The vessel you choose is just as important as the foliage itself. It sets the tone for the arrangement and helps anchor the look.

For tall arrangements or longer stems, opt for narrow-necked ceramic or glass vases. Our White Ceramic Vase with Handle adds a classic touch and supports taller stems beautifully. For a rustic or country feel, our Textured Stone Vase complements eucalyptus and fuller foliage.

If you're styling a shorter, bushier arrangement, try a wide-mouthed bowl or pot. Our Cream Ribbed Planter looks particularly lovely filled with our Faux Spanish Moss Bushes and smaller stems grouped for a loose, garden-inspired display.

Grouping smaller vases or planters together also creates impact. Try three varying-height pots on a tray in the centre of your dining table or on a hallway sideboard. Use odd numbers to keep the arrangement feeling natural.

Styling Faux Plants Room by Room

Hallway: Make a welcoming first impression with a tall faux plant like the Faux Olive Tree or a large vase of realistic faux eucalyptus and delicate white wax flowers on your console table. Pair with a mirror and a candle for a warm, styled finish.

Living Room: Group faux foliage with coffee table books, candles and a decorative tray. Mix textures—smooth ceramic pots, rattan trays, glass candle holders—to keep things interesting.

Kitchen: Faux herb plants or trailing greenery like the Faux basil plant in clay pot bring a fresh feel. Style in bowls, line them up on windowsills, or cluster a few in a basket on your countertop.

Bedroom: Faux greenery on your bedside or dresser helps soften the room. Opt for smaller arrangements or trailing pieces in glass or white ceramic for a serene touch.

Bathroom: Faux plants thrive in bathrooms (where real ones can struggle). Pop a Faux Fern or Faux Natural Olive Tree in Rustic Aged Pot in a corner or by the bath for an instant refresh.

Dining Room: A large centrepiece featuring a mix of our Luxury Faux Foliage Arrangement and some Faux Potted Senecio makes a striking focal point. Use a low, wide vase so you can still see over it at dinner.

Faux foliage is such a brilliant way to bring a touch of nature indoors—without any of the upkeep. With realistic textures, beautiful shades of green and long-lasting style, they’re perfect for every corner of your home.
